It has not been an easy season for Cabrini.

The defending Division III state champion has played a tough schedule after graduating stars from last year’s title team.

Still, the Crescents are a dangerous side.

That was evident Thursday in a 25-14, 23-25, 25-23, 25-14 victory at Ursuline Academy. The win was the third straight for Cabrini.

“We knew going into this season we were going to have some growing pains,” Cabrini coach Kasey Laird Dennies said. “With only two returning starters and four freshmen in the starting lineup, we knew it would take some time to find our confidence and mesh as a team. We saw that confidence and team chemistry start to come together against Ursuline.”

Cabrini (7-7) will host Livingston Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday while the Lions (8-3) will host New Orleans Science & Math also on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
