Volleyball: Ben Franklin downs Riverdale in district contest

Area Prep Volleyball Report for Tuesday, Oct. 11

Ben Franklin continued its fine season with a convincing 25-14, 25-16, 25-14 win at home Monday over Riverdale in a District 8-II matchup.

Cori Staes had 11 kills while Aubrey Muirhead had eight kills and five blocks. Kat Kondkar had three aces and 14 assists, Annika Roberson had six assists and three blocks, Zoe Bell finished with 25 digs, Emily Fisackerly had 14 digs and Sophie Roussel added 10 digs.

Ben Franklin (24-4, 2-0)) has won 10 straight matches and will return to district play Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Carver.

The Rebels (16-13, 1-1) also return to district play Wednesday, hosting Warren Easton at 4:30 p.m.
