Volleyball: Academy of Our Lady downs Warren Easton in straight sets

Area Prep Volleyball Report for Tuesday, Oct. 13

Perhaps it has not been noticed.

After reaching the Division II quarterfinals a year ago, Academy of Our Lady returned a solid nucleus of players in 2020.

Don’t look now but AOL is unbeaten more than halfway through the season.

The Penguins went on the road Monday and handled Warren Easton 25-11, 25-16, 25-12.

Kacey Lyon and Kylie Howell each had six kills to lead the way, Madison Romano served three aces, Emily Eschette had seven digs and Essence Wren finished with 15 assists.

Academy of Our Lady is ranked third in the Division II power rankings behind Lafayette powers St. Thomas More and Teurlings Catholic.

AOL (13-0) returns to action, hosting Landry today at 4:30 p.m. in a District 8-II contest while the Eagles (8-5) saw a four-match win streak end. Warren Easton will host West Jefferson today at 4:30 p.m.
