KENNER – Brother Martin freshman Jacob Vangilder had a career day in the Saturday junior league at AMF All Star Lanes and may have set a milestone in the process.

Vangilder rolled games of 257-300-258 for an 815 series Saturday morning. In addition to his first career 300 game and 800 series, Vangilder – at 15 years, 5 months old – came within one month of being the youngest bowler ever from the New Orleans area to bowl an 800.

Two others have rolled 800 series at 15 – Vangilder’s Brother Martin and Saturday teammate, Drew Gardner, at 15 years, 4 months in 2018, and Alex Dupuy at 15 years, 8 months. Both of those were also at AMF.
