Video: Alvin Gentry slams report that calls Pelicans “second class citizens” in New Orleans under Benson ownership
Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry has been in the eye of a storm this week with the move by Anthony Davis and his agent to request a trade out of New Orleans. The normally calm and cool veteran coach finally showed frustration, but not about the situation with Davis.
On Wednesday night, Gentry used the opportunity of his usual postgame comments to the media to address the claims that the Pelicans as second-class citizens.
The last part of the video is not safe for work as Gentry dropped an expletive to cap his defense “in layman’s terms” of the organtization’s support of his team and the entire franchise under the ownership of Tom and Gayle Benson.
After asked about owner Gayle Benson visiting the team to encourage them pregame, a very passionate Alvin Gentry ranted about the idea the Pelicans are “second class citizens” in New Orleans: pic.twitter.com/30lMzfVBkL
