FRISCO, Texas – Austin Vos earned his second Southland Player of the Week award the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon. Vos went 2-0 in the Privateers’ lone match, a conference victory over UIW.

Vos continued his hot streak in singles with now four consecutive wins. Playing at the top flight, Vos engineered a straight set victory over UIW’s Marwin Kralemann last Thursday. In his winning streak, Vos has completed three of the four matches in straight sets.

In doubles, Vos and teammate, Espen Lagarde are rolling as well. The duo won three of their last four doubles decisions. Last week, they beat the Cardinals’ top duo of Kralemann and Dennis Boisseau by a 6-2 score.

Vos becomes the first Privateer men’s tennis student-athlete to win the conference’s weekly award multiple times in the same season since 2001 (Viktor Loven).

Also, between the men’s and women’s teams, the Privateers have taken home the award six times.

The men are back on court Wednesday when they travel to Beaumont to face Lamar.
