UNO guard Derek St. Hilaire named Louisiana Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans graduate transfer Derek St. Hilaire was named The Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s (LSWA) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Tuesday morning.

The weekly honor is voted on by the state’s sports information directors along with select members of the media.

St. Hilaire paced the Privateers behind a career-high 33 points and drained seven triples in Saturday’s 99-84 victory over McNeese. In the back-to-back victories for UNO, St. Hilaire has registered 55 points.

In Saturday’s win, the guard wrapped up going 13-of-22 from the field and hit six of his seven from deep in the first half. He also added four assists along with three boards and a pair of steals.
