NEW ORLEANS – For the second consecutive season, Brady Bennett has been named the Southland Golfer of the Month for the opening month of the season.

During October Bennett shot a 208 at both the Golfweek Fall Challenge, and the Derek Dolenc Invitational – matching the fourth-best 54-hole score in program history. His low round of 66 during the third round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge was a career-best and matches teammates Florian Moosmeier and Grayson Gilbert for the fifth-best round in school history.

Brady finished all six of his rounds in September under-par before adding two more under-par rounds in at the Grover Page Classic. His total of eight rounds under-par is the most by a Privateer in a single season since 2009/2010.

The Zachary, La. native is the only Privateer in program history to be named the Southland Golfer of the Month and is now the first two-time Conference of the Month selection in school history.

“I could not be any prouder of Brady. It’s a testament to what hard work can accomplish. He’s worked extremely hard on his game since his arrival on the Lakefront. As a coach, it’s very satisfying to see all of his hard work pay off. I’m extremely happy that the Southland Conference has recognized his fine play during the start of our season.”
