UNO AD Tim Duncan: #100Meetings100Days – Week One
NEW ORLEANS – University of New Orleans Director of Athletics Tim Duncan hit the ground running in week No. 1 at the helm of Privateer Athletics. Duncan met with eight Greater New Orleans businessmen, executives and UNO alums/student-athletes/staff.

Meeting 1 – Ron Maestri
An UNO Hall of Famer, the former director of athletics (1979-2000) and head baseball coach (1972-84, 2013-15) was the first #100Meetings100Days. Maestri gave Duncan an overview of the athletic department.
Meeting 2 – Joe Bennett
A baseball student-athlete and 1977 graduate of UNO, Bennett is a retired oil and gas executive of Tidewater, Inc. An ardent supporter of UNO baseball, Bennett and Duncan strategized on ways for the university to connect with baseball alums.
Meeting 3- Scot Craig & Scottie Rodgers
Chef Scot Craig (Katie’s & Francesca’s Restaurants) and Rodgers (associate commissioner of the Sun Belt Conference) discussed UNO basketball and how to utilize the success of men’s and women’s basketball to enhance interest from the Greater New Orleans area.
Meeting 4- Jay Cicero & Jeff Rossi
The CEO and President of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation (Cicero) and Senior VP for Events/Event Sales (Rossi) discussed UNO’s participation as the co-host of the 2010 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four in New Orleans.
Meeting 5 – Glenn Scorsone
A UNO alum (1980) and President of the UNO Alumni Association, Scoreone and Duncan looked at ways to enhance the basketball game day experience for Privateer Club members, season ticket holders, fans and students.
Meeting 6 – Ed Daniels
An award-winning sports director for WGNO, Daniels welcomed Duncan on Sports Zone Wednesday evening and spoke about the vision of Privateer Athletics.
Meeting 7 – Ron Maestri, Brandon Rizzuto & Mike Bujol
Duncan joined Maestri, UNO alum and former assistant athletic director for external relations Brandon Rizzuto and UNO alum Mike Bujol for coffee Friday morning. The trio recapped the Boycott Bowl and other great New Orleans stories.
