Florida State has cancelled its Saturday football game in Tallahassee against ULM because of Hurricane Irma, the school announced late Thursday night.

The Category 5 storm is threatening to hit the southern part of Florida this weekend, forcing college football teams around the Sunshine state to cancel or postpone games. The Florida State campus has been closed Friday through at least Monday.

FSU (1-0) had already moved kickoff against the Warhawks up from 7 p.m. to noon earlier this week.

ULM (0-1) will next take on Southern Miss in the home opener for the Warhawks in Monroe on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The University of Florida’s home game against Northern Colorado and the University of Miami’s game at Arkansas State – both scheduled for this Saturday – were also cancelled this week.

The Tampa Bay-Miami matchup in NFL week one was moved to week 11 of the season due to Irma. New Orleans was considered as a possible host site if Bucs-Dolphins had been moved and played this week.
