UCLA pitcher Thatcher Hurd announced on social media Wednesday that he has transferred to LSU.

As a true freshman this past season, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Hurd was dominant with a 1.06 ERA and had 48 strikeouts in 34 innings. However, the Manhattan Beach, Calif. native’s season ended prematurely due to a stress fracture in his lower spine.

Hurd becomes the sixth marquee player to announce their transfer to LSU, joining NC State first baseman Tommy White, Vanderbilt pitcher Christian Little, Creighton pitcher Dylan Tebrake, Vanderbilt shortstop Carter Young and Baylor shortstop Jack Pineda.
