Two AAU events to be sponsored by Allstate Sugar Bowl this weekend

Bowl’s Community Impact Continues with Elite Basketball and Volleyball Events

NEW ORLEANS – The Allstate Sugar Bowl will sponsor elite AAU events in basketball and volleyball this weekend. The Allstate Sugar Bowl Primetime Super 60 AAU Basketball Tournament will feature 319 girls’ and boys’ teams from 17 states in action at multiple locations around the city, while the Allstate Sugar Bowl AAU Volleyball Super Regional will be contested at Loyola University and the Hilton Riverside.

The Super 60 basketball action will begin on Friday, May 25. There are 25 divisions for boys (ages 8-15) and 11 divisions for girls (6th grade-11th grade). Boys’ championship matches will be played on Monday, May 28, and the girls’ title games will be on Sunday, May 28. All championships will be played at the Alario Center. States represented in the Super 60 tournament are Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

The volleyball Super Regional will have over 70 teams in action on Saturday and Sunday. There are six divisions featuring girls from 12 to 18 years old. The Allstate Sugar Bowl has established itself as one of the premier college football bowl games, having hosted 28 national champions, 93 Hall of Fame players, 49 Hall of Fame coaches and 18 Heisman Trophy winners in its 84-year history. The 85th Allstate Sugar Bowl Football Classic, featuring top teams from the Big 12 and the SEC, will be played on January 1, 2019.
