Morgan will report to Riva Basket in September

NEW ORLEANS – Following one of the greatest careers in Tulane women’s basketball history, guard Kolby Morgan will be playing even more basketball as a professional in Switzerland.

Morgan, who graduated from Tulane in May as the No. 2 scorer in the program record books, has signed a contract with Riva Basket. The Swiss professional side plays in the highest division of Swiss women’s basketball with seven other teams.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for me,” Morgan said. “For me to travel the world and experience a different culture, a different language and different people is amazing. Not many people get this opportunity, and I’m going to make the best of it.”

Morgan will report to the team in September with the season beginning later that month or in early October. The team went 7-14 last season and had two Americans on the roster.

Morgan scored 19.5 points per game to lead Tulane in 2017-18. She was named to the American Athletic Conference Second Team for the third consecutive year, the LSWA All-State First Team for the second straight year and spent seven weeks on The American’s honor roll as well.

The MVP of the Tulane Classic Tournament for the second straight year, Morgan finished her Tulane career with 2,240 career points. She is the only player in team history to score 600 or more points in three seasons. She holds the school record for games started (130), field goals made (777) and field goals attempted (1,816).
