Baseball rained out

ORLANDO, Fla. – Due to storms and steady rainfall in the area throughout the afternoon on Saturday, Tulane baseball’s series finale at UCF has been canceled.

Both the Green Wave and Knights had completed pregame batting practice in the indoor cages and were preparing to play, but a storm moved in forcing the tarp to be pulled about 40 minutes prior to the scheduled 1 p.m. ET first pitch. The teams retreated to indoor cover and waited four-and-a-half hours before the decision was officially made to cancel the game, with rain still falling in the area.

The Knights had taken the first two games of the weekend series on Friday.

Tulane will head over to Clearwater, Fla., for the American Athletic Conference Championship, which begins Tuesday at Spectrum Field. The Green Wave will face No. 1 seed Houston in their tournament opener Tuesday night.
