“We thank Coach Jewett for his service to Tulane University. I am confident in Coach Uhlman’s leadership of our program. He will continue to support our tremendous student-athletes as we end the regular season this weekend and prepare for the American Athletic Conference Tournament,” said Troy Dannen, Director of Athletics in a statement Monday.
Green Wave assistant Coach Jay Uhlman was named Interim Head Coach for the remainder of season.
Tulane stated that a national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
Jewett was in his sixth season at the helm of the Green Wave. He posted a 160-138-1 record with no American Athletic Conference titles or NCAA appearances.
Tulane was swept this past weekend in a three-game series at Wichita State, dropping a third straight conference series and falling below .500 (10-11) in the AAC this season.
