NEW ORLEANS – Tulane baseball begins the 2018 campaign with a three-game series against Wright State Friday through Sunday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. Game times are 6:30 p.m. Friday, 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Live video will be available for all three games on TulaneGreenWave.com, and Sunday’s video stream will be available for free. Games on Friday and Saturday will be broadcast on 88.3 FM WRBH and the TuneIn Radio app. Live stats will also be available through the Tulane website.

Series History
Tulane and Wright State have played seven times. Tulane leads the series, 6-1. The Green Wave swept three games at home in 2007 by scores of 5-4 (13), 9-8 and 4-1. The Wave then took three of four contests in 2009 in New Orleans, winning by scores of 5-3, 10-2 and 4-3 (10) after dropping the opener, 12-6.

Quick Notes
•  Tulane is opening its second year under head coach Travis Jewett.
•  The Green Wave roster features 16 returners and 18 newcomers, including nine junior college/graduate transfers and nine freshmen.
•  The coaching staff includes a pair of newcomers as well, in hitting coach/recruiting coordinator Eddie Smith and volunteer assistant Brian Harris.
•  Eight Louisiana natives pepper the Green Wave roster, including seven from the New Orleans area.
•  The opening weekend starting rotation includes two newcomers in Junior RHP Kaleb Roper and graduate RHP Ben White, and two New Orleans natives in Roper and sophomore RHP Keagan Gillies. Roper, who prepped at Archbishop Rummel, transferred from San Jacinto College, and White is a graduate transfer from College of the Holy Cross. Gillies, a Brother Martin product, appeared in 23 games and made two starts as a freshman in 2017.
•  Tulane has won its opening weekend series in eight of the last 10 years.
•  The Green Wave will face a grueling schedule that includes 33 games against 13 teams that have participated in the NCAA postseason within the last two years.
•  Junior outfielder Grant Witherspoon was a preseason All-American Athletic Conference selection, as voted by the league’s head coaches.
