NEW ORLEANS – Tulane men’s basketball program added the first member of its 2019-20 signing class, as Jadan Coleman inked his National Letter of Intent in an announcement by first-year head coach Ron Hunter.

“We are very happy to add a kid like Jadan,” Hunter said, “He possesses a high-level shooting ability, and he’s equally as impressive from an academic standpoint. He is going to fit in great with our basketball program and the culture at Tulane.”

A 6’4 wing player, Coleman plays at Bob Jones High School in Madison, Alabama under head coach Luther Tiggs.

Playing for his AAU team, Alabama Fusion, in the summer of 2019, Coleman averaged 9.7 points per game on the Nike EYBL circuit under head coach Robert Shannon. In 13 games, he made 34 3-pointers while shooting at a 35-percent clip from outside and made multiple treys in eight contests.

Coleman recorded three 20-point performances at EYBL, including a 25-point effort with six 3s against AOT Running Rebels in April, before sinking five triples in a 20-point performance against Mokan Elite in May. On May 25, he set the EYBL record with 10 3-pointers made in a 36-point outburst against Team United.

At Peach Jam in July, Coleman scored in double-figures three times, averaging 9.4 points in six outings. His best performance of the tournament came against PSA Cardinals where he had 15 points on five treys.

Tulane closes out its three-game homestand Saturday against Northwestern State. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
