Tulane kicker Glover named AAC special teams player of the week, Bradwell and Johnson named to weekly honor roll

Glover named special teams player of the week; Bradwell and Johnson named to the weekly honor roll

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane football players Merek Glover, Darius Bradwell and Patrick Johnson were recognized by the American Athletic Conference on Monday following their performances in the Green Wave’s 41-15 victory at USF on Saturday.

Glover earned AAC Special Teams Player of the Week after he scored a career-high 11 points. The Jericho, New York, native connected on field goals of 38 and 24 yards as part of a 20-point second quarter for the Green Wave. He also converted five extra points.

Junior running back Darius Bradwell and sophomore defensive lineman Patrick Johnson were each selected to the league’s weekly honor roll.

Bradwell earned the honor after he rushed for 135 yards on just 15 carries. He also scored a rushing touchdown for the seventh straight game,tying him for the national lead among running backs for consecutive games with a touchdown.

Johnson was named to the weekly honor roll after he totaled five tackles and recorded 1.5 sacks to lead a defense that had five sacks.

Glover, Bradwell and Johnson’s recognition marks the fourth time this season a Green Wave student-athlete has been honored by the league office. Earlier this year, junior running back Darius Bradwell (Oct. 1), senior cornerback Donnie Lewis Jr. (Oct. 22) and graduate transfer quarterback Justin McMillan (Oct. 29) were named to the weekly honor roll as well.

Tulane returns to action this week as it welcomes ECU to Yulman Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. (CT), and the game will be aired on ESPNEWS.
