Tulane women's basketball

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane women’s basketball team held its first official practice Monday morning inside the Hertz Center ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Head coach Lisa Stockton brings in 571 career wins, 508 of which came with the Green Wave. She is currently No. 50 on the all-time winningest women’s basketball coaches list.

“They were really excited,” Stockton said. “You wonder, when we practice all summer, if the same excitement happens in the first practice, but I thought the team had great energy and communication. With this group, we have benefitted from returning so many players. I just felt like they kept their focus and they’re really excited about the season to come.”

The Green Wave’s roster features the return of letterwinners Kaila Anderson, Erin Gutierrez, Kayla Manuirirang, Sierra Cheatham, Dynah Jones, Krystal Freeman, Mia Heide and Maddison Wells. Transfer junior Arsula Clark (ULM) and freshmen Dene’ Mimms, Salma Bates, Aijah Grant and Irina Parau will join the team for the 2019-20 season.

Tickets for the 2019-20 season can be purchased by calling 504-861-WAVE (9283), logging on to TulaneTix.com or visiting the ticket office at the James W. Wilson Jr. Center.
