Tulane announces 2021-22 women’s bowling schedule

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University bowling team and head coach Hayley Veitch announced the Green Wave’s 2021-22 schedule, Tuesday, July 19. The campaign will consist of 12 regular season events, including the return of the Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan, La.

Tulane will open the season with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) SWIBC hosted by Texas A&M in Dallas on Oct. 2-3.

The Green Wave will then head back home for the Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan on Oct. 22-24. The Olive and Blue host this tournament annually, but the event was not played in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Tulane will wrap up the month of October at the Adelphi University Classic on Long Island (Oct. 29-31). The Green Wave will close the fall portion of the season with the Sonic Boom tournament hosted by Jackson State (Nov. 12-14).

Tulane will come back from winter break on Jan. 8-10 with the Stormin Blue & White Vegas Classic hosted by Mount St. Mary’s in Las Vegas. The Green Wave placed fifth at the same tournament in the 2019-20 season.

The Green Wave will stay on the road for the second USBC SWIBC in Dallas on Jan. 15-16. The Olive and Blue will head back to Dallas for the PVAM Invitational on Jan. 28-30. Prairie View A&M hosted the same tournament last season with Tulane placing sixth in the field.

Tulane will go back to Dallas for the fourth time next season to play in the LA Tech Tournament on Feb. 11-14. The Green Wave placed fifth in the event last season. The Olive and Blue will close the month of February with the Mid Winter Invitational in Jonesboro, Ark. (Feb. 18-20). Tulane finished eighth in the event in the 2020-21 season.

Prior to the regular season finale, the Green Wave will head to the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Sectionals on March 11 and the USCBC Team Championships Sectionals on March 12-13.

Tulane will wrap up the regular season in Smyrna, Tenn., with the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt on March 18-20. The Olive and Blue placed fifth at last season’s tournament in Smyrna.

Tulane will then head back home for the Southland Bowling League Championship at Colonial Lanes in Harahan on March 25-27. This marks the second straight season the Green Wave will play host to conference championship.

The NCAA Championship Regionals will be played April 8-9 in Columbus, Ohio, before the NCAA Championship is played in the same location on April 15-16.

The USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships (April 20-23) in Addison, Ill., will mark the final event of the season for the Green Wave.

The Green Wave will return the entire roster from the 2020-21 season, including honorable mention All-American and second team All-SBL honoree Madison McCall. Every member of the team was named National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic during the 2020-21 season.
