Travin Thibodeaux signs with NBA G-League’s Mad Ants

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Former University of New Orleans forward Travin Thibodeaux inked a professional contract with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, a G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers.

A 6-foot-8 Plaquemine native, Thibodeaux averaged a career-high 16.3 points on 54.2 percent shooting and added 5.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks. For his career, Thibs scored 984 points in 117 games, starting 83. He pulled down 5.8 rebounds and shot 52.5 percent. In 2017, Thibodeaux was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team and All-Defensive Team.

“It is a blessing to be able to start my professional journey with one of the best organizations in the G League,” said Thibodeaux. “I am eager to maximize my potential, learn and compete at the professional level. I give all the glory to God for allowing me to get to this point.”

The 2018-19 men’s basketball team begins its season November 6 at home, hosting Spring Hill College at 7:30 p.m. at Lakefront Arena.
