Tom Levigne named Higgins head football coach

Tom Lavigne has been named the new head football coach at L.W. Higgins, the school’s athletic director Buddy Viellion announced Monday in a release.

The Grambling State graduate has experience as a defensive coordinator, defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator on the prep level during stops at Clark, O. Perry Walker, Cohen, John McDonogh and Ehret.

Lavigne got his start in coaching at Grambling as a graduate assistant coaching defensive backs before serving as an assistant at Northwestern State (in Alva, Oklahoma), Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Southern and Arkansas Baptist Junior College.
