T.J. Finley to start at quarterback for LSU vs. South Carolina
True freshman quarterback T.J. Finley will start for LSU this weekend.
Head coach Ed Orgeron confirmed the decision Thursday evening. Fox 8 New Orleans first reported that Finley, a Ponchatoula High product, would take the first snap for the Tigers against the Gamecocks.

Junior starter Myles Brennan is sidelined with a partially torn oblique muscle, meaning the Tigers will go into Saturday’s game against South Carolina without any experience behind center.
Finley has been competing with fellow freshman Max Johnson behind Brennan on the depth chart. LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said the pair were competing this week to determine a starter since he did not expect Brennen to play but that both are expected to make their college debuts.
The Tigers and Gamecocks kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday in Baton Rouge on ESPN.
