Tim Rebowe named finalist for Eddie Robinson Award
THIBODAUX, La. — Nicholls State University head football coach Tim Rebowe has been named a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Award, which recognizes the Coach of the Year for the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
Rebowe, in his third season at the helm of the Colonel program, is one of 18 head coaches to make the list, which includes at least one coach from all 13 FCS conferences. A national panel of over 150 sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries will select the recipient.
Rebowe led Nicholls to an 8-3 overall record, a 7-2 mark in the Southland and an at-large bid into the FCS playoffs. The Colonels will host South Dakota in the opening round at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 25.
The eight wins is the second-most for a single season in program history and the seven Southland victories is the most since joining the league in 1991. The last winning season for the program before this year was in 2007.
The winner of the 31st STATS FCS Eddie Robinson Award will be celebrated at the STATS FCS Awards Banquet and Presentation, scheduled for Jan. 5 in Frisco, Texas, on the eve of the national championship game.
