Lucas (5-9, 175), the Bayou Region’s offensive player of the year last season, had more than two dozen Division I offers, including recent offers from Florida State, Indiana, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Maryland.
Lucas has been an all-purpose threat for the Tigers in his career, earning Class 5A all-state honors as a kick returner as a junior. He averaged more than 200 all-purpose yards per game in 2020, mostly at running back, after primarily playing at wide receiver in 2019.
Lucas was clocked in 4.4 in the 40-yard dash at a camp on Tulane’s campus last month.
