KIPP media room

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference participated in the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation’s unveiling of the Media Center Makeover for KIPP Central City Primary on Thursday morning in downtown New Orleans.

The makeover focused on primary work areas for the media center, including new computer stations, tables, chairs, and comfortable seating areas for reading and studying. The CFP Foundation’s education partners helped make the makeover possible – School Specialty provided furniture and related installations, while Veative USA invested in virtual reality headsets and content.

The Media Room Makeover, powered by the Sun Belt and with support from the New Orleans College Football Championship Host Committee (NOFCHC), is valued at $50,000.

“We are really excited to partner with the CFP and the Sugar Bowl to help support teachers and students,” said Sun Belt Commissioner Keith Gill. “This media center is unbelievable. Thinking about what it looked like before the renovation and all that has been invested by the CFP Foundation and the Sun Belt Conference is wonderful to see.”

About the Sun Belt Conference
With each passing season, the Sun Belt Conference continues to challenge itself, and its competitors, in all aspects of intercollegiate athletics. Not content with being simply the youngest football conference in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the conference has shown that it can rise each and every season that comes along. And since the birth of the league as a FBS member in 2001, the Sun Belt has earned due respect in the FBS over the last several years by consistently beating teams from peer conferences, winning bowl games and upsetting Power Five teams.

Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Louisiana, ULM, South Alabama, Texas State and Troy give the league 10 football members. Little Rock and UTA compete as Sun Belt members in sports other than football.
