NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) announced its initial 2020 football season TV schedule today featuring 28 games on the ESPN networks, CBS Sports Network and Fox Sports. The 2020 season will be the ninth consecutive year that every SBC home game will appear on an ESPN platform.

“After a summer full of planning and creating medical protocols to ensure a safe return to activities, we’re all very excited for Week 1,” said SBC Commissioner Keith Gill. “The strength of our ESPN schedule is especially important this year as these additional broadcasts will help our fans follow our programs while stadiums are limited in capacity. We’re so grateful for our partnership with ESPN and their ability to deliver SBC action this season as we all adapt during this time of COVID-19.”

The Sun Belt Conference will have every game televised on a national broadcast network in Week 2 (September 12) and five games on national networks in Week 3 (September 19). This season, the conference will host games on Wednesday and Thursday nights on ESPN’s main channel.

Here are the initial broadcast dates for the season. (All times listed are CT.)

The SBC Championship game will be played on 12/5 or 12/12 or 12/19 with the time and network to be determined.

The conference will continue to monitor the health trends of its members, covering seven states and twelve counties. Sun Belt Presidents and Chancellors, Athletics Directors, the COVID-19 Advisory Panel, and medical advisors will continue to review data including infection and hospitalization rates, local health directives, advancements in COVID-19 testing, and campus, department and team health trends.
