WASHINGTON D.C. – The New Orleans Privateers persevered in clutch moments and used a strong service game to propel to a 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 25-20, 27-25) win over the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday afternoon.

The Privateers were lethal from the service line with 17 aces and Sheilah Purcell racked up 29 of the Privateers’ 84 digs in the victory against the Hoyas to start the day off at the McDonough Center.

Molly Kehoe had another strong game on offense with a career-best 20 kills and a .340 attack percentage on the day.

After facing a 23-19 deficit late in the fourth set, Coach Ashley Preston called her final timeout of the set. The Privateers came back with renewed energy as they scored on the next five rallies out of the timeout.

Georgetown saved one match point and had a set point of their own. However, Trinity Jackson recorded a kill to tie the score at 25-25 and ended a near 40-second rally with another kill two points later to wrap up the victory for the Privateers.
