AUSTIN, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana University track & field team member Slavko Stevic took his best jumps at a national championship and ended his season Friday night with a fourth-place finish, earning him a First Team All-American honor, in the men’s high jump at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at the Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.

Stevic easily cleared the first three heights of the competition, going over 2.06 meters (6’9”), 2.11 meters (6’11”), and 2.16 meters (7’1”) all on his first attempt. However, with 13 competitors remaining, 2.16 meters (7’3”) thinned the field as ten members of the field, including Stevic, all faulted on their three attempts at that height.

Thanks to Stevic’s clean cards at the previous heights, he officially finished in a five-way tie for fourth place, earning him a spot on the All-American First Team.

Stevic finishes the season having broken both of Southeastern’s high jump records, clearing 2.21 meters (7’3”) in the indoor season and 2.22 meters (7’3.25”) during the outdoor season.
