State representatives send letter to Louisiana’s top education officials, LHSAA endorsing return to school, sports

State representatives sent a letter Wednesday urging that students and athletes return to school and extracurricular sports competition.

Rep. Ray Garofalo Jr., Chairman of the House Committee on Education, crafted the letter signed by 62 state representatives and addressed the heads of the state’s Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, Department of Education and LHSAA.

Child health, wellness and development in school attendance and sports participation were among the topics addressed.
