Defending Division II state champion St. Thomas More moves up to third in Class 4A with Neville dropping to fourth and Parkview Baptist fifth. The Cougars of Jim Hightower posted a comprehensive 45-0 win over Lafayette High to open the season.

Defending Division IV state champion Karr retains the top spot in 4A after a road win at St. Paul’s fueled by a play-making defense. Warren Easton is a strong second after clobbering Jesuit. Plaquemine, Teurlings Catholic, McDonogh 35, Carencro and Lutcher round out the top 10.

Defending Division I state champion Evangel remains the top-ranked team in Class 5A. The Eagles scored a very impressive 14-6 road win at East St. Louis, IL.
