St. Tammany high school swimmers impress at state meet

Some of the best Louisiana high school swim teams in the state can be found north of Lake Poncchartrain. For those schools, swimming is a very popular sport. St. Tammany boasts 15 school swim teams (8 public and 7 private).

This past week, these schools competed in the 2019 LHSAA State Swimming Championships from Nov. 20-23 at the SPAR Aquatic Center in Sulphur. The results were impressive.

Notes:

Division IV’s Pope John Paul Boys placed second for the fourth time in the past five years. SSA’s girls won their ninth straight title in Division II, Lakeshore High’s boys placed third in Division II. Mandeville’s girls placed second in Division I. Northshore High’s girls placed fourth in Division I. St.Paul’s placed third and Mandeville’s boys placed fourth in Division I.
