Another premier matchup is set as a result of the impact of Hurricane Ida.

Class 5A power Zachary will play host to St. Paul’s Friday night.

Zachary coach David Brewerton and St. Paul’s coach Kenny Sears each confirmed the matchup to CrescentCitySports.com Sunday evening.

The Broncos won Class 5A state championships in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

St. Paul’s looks to be a much improved team after an encouraging scrimmage performance against Division I power John Curtis Christian and a jamboree victory over Division I power Archbishop Rummel.

Zachary was scheduled to host John Ehret but the Patriots are unable to play while St. Paul’s was slated to play at Jesuit but the Blue Jays are unable to play as of yet.

The Broncos thumped West Feliciana 56-6 in their season opener while the Wolves had their season opener with Landry canceled.
