St. Paul’s opens wrestling season with win over Mandeville

In 2019-20, St. Paul’s came close to a state title finishing second in Division I at the LHSAA wrestling championships to the dominant Brother Martin program.

In 2020-21, the Wolves are hoping to take the next step.

St. Paul’s started off well Wednesday evening, defeating Northshore rival Mandeville 63-15.

The Wolves won six of the nine matches contested while the other five weight classes resulted in forfeits.

Scoring falls for St. Paul’s were Conlan Enk (106), Carter Duet (132), Grant Nastasi (145) and Landry Barker (170).

Winning by pin for the Skippers was Miles Edwards (152).
