Area Prep Soccer Report for Tuesday, November 26

Defending state champions St. Paul’s, Holy Cross and University High sit atop their respective divisions in the Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association rankings while Newman is No. 1 in Division IV.

St. Paul’s (3-0) is the unanimous choice in Division I. The Wolves moved to 3-0 on the season with a 2-0 victory over St. Amant Monday. Jesuit is second with Dutchtown third, St. Amant fourth and Lafayette fifth. Brother Martin is No. 7 and Northshore is No. 10.

Holy Cross (2-0) received seven first-place votes to grab the top spot in Division II with St. Thomas More getting the other three first place votes for second. Beau Chene is third with East Jefferson fourth and Ben Franklin fifth. Lakeshore is sixth and Bonnabel is seventh.

University High (1-0) edged out St. Louis Catholic for the top spot in Division III. Both the Cubs and Saints received five first-place votes. Loyola Prep is third with Lusher Charter fourth and Vandebilt Catholic fifth.

Newman fell to 1-1 with a 1-0 loss to Episcopal Monday but the Greenies have the top spot with eight first-place votes in Division IV. Northlake Christian received the other two first-place votes and is second with Episcopal third. Pope John Paul II is fourth with Catholic of New Iberia fifth. St. Thomas Aquinas is sixth with Country Day ninth.
