NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans head coach Mark Slessinger announced the addition of spring recruit No. 3, 6-8 forward Bol Tong. Tong will have two seasons of eligibility for the Privateers after transferring from Hill Junior College.

At Hill, Tong averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and shot 41.1 percent from three-point range. He reached double figures 10 times in 2019-20, including back-to-back 20+ point games. He posted a career-high 29 points on 10-of-13 shooting. Tong went 6-of-8 from long distance. In the following game, he poured in 22 points.

FROM COACH SLESSINGER
“Bol will give us some size and length at his position immediately, and his skill level is extremely high. Bol’s ability to shoot the basketball stood out from the beginning and will add a new dimension to our front court. He comes highly recommended by Hill College coach Swede Trenkle and we know his experience in that program will help him immensely here.”

“His reputation as an outstanding young man and good student will also be a welcome addition to our city, our campus, and our team.”

FROM BOL TONG
“I’m blessed to be able to play for coach Slessinger and the Privateers. The city is great and there’s a family vibe within the program. I cannot wait to arrive at my new home and get to work.”
