Southern Lab picks alum, ex-Jackson State QB Darrell Asberry as new head football coach

Southern Lab didn’t have to look far to find a new football coach with a connection to its program.

Former Texas Southern coach Darrell Asberry, an ex-Southern Lab quarterback, has been hired as the Kittens new coach, two days after former LSU quarterback Marcus Randall was terminated in the aftermath of LHSAA sanctions.

Asberry, also a former Jackson State quarterback, was starting his first year as Belaire High’s offensive coordinator. Read more from The Advocate.
