HAMMOND, La. – Presleigh Scott will continue her athletic and academic endeavors as a member of the Southeastern Louisiana women’s basketball program beginning in the 2021-22 season, SLU head coach Ayla Guzzardo announced on Wednesday.

Scott, a 5-10 forward, hails from Livingston, Louisiana. She is entering her senior season at Doyle High School.

“We’re excited to add Presleigh to our family,” Guzzardo said. “She’ll play the 3 and 4 for us and her length makes her an asset. Her accolades speak for themselves and her decision to stay close to home will allow her to have a lot of support at our games in the University Center. What really stands out about Presleigh is her high basketball IQ and tireless work ethic. We’re fortunate to have her as a Lady Lion for the next four years.”

As a junior, Scott was selected Louisiana’s Class 2A Most Outstanding Player after leading Doyle to its first girls’ basketball state championship since 1979. She averaged 19.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.3 steals last season.

Scott’s future teammates will open the 2020-21 season on Nov. 25, hosting Alcorn State at 1 p.m. in the University Center.
