HAMMOND, La. – Nine products of the Southeastern Louisiana University football program will participate in SLU’s Pro Day, set for April 5 at 4 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium.

The eight former Lions with next-level hopes participating in Pro Day include quarterback Cole Kelley, wide receiver Austin Mitchell, tight end Nolan Givan, linebacker Alexis Ramos, offensive lineman Rendon Miles-Character, offensive lineman Ethan McMullan, wide receiver Tim Wilson Jr., wide receiver Brennon Dingle and linebacker Chinedu Ogbonna.

Kelley, the 2020 Walter Payton Award winner and 2021 Southland Conference Player of the Year, finished his three years in Hammond as the FCS career leader in completion percentage, as well as the program’s all-time leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, total offense and rushing touchdowns.

The 2021 consensus All-American was an NFL Scouting Combine invitee, won the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Offensive MVP and participated in the Hula Bowl.

Mitchell, who hails from Plaquemine, Louisiana, was an All-Southland Conference selection each of his final three seasons and earned Phil Steele All-America honors. After five years in the green and gold, Mitchell finished as the program’s career leader in receiving yards and 100-yard receiving games, while also ranking second in receptions and touchdown receptions. Since the conclusion of the 2021 season, Mitchell represented the Lions in the Tropical Bowl.

Givan was an impact performer for SLU in his lone season with the program, earning first team All-Southland Conference and Louisiana Newcomer of the Year honors. The Berkley, Michigan native hauled in 56 passes for 572 yards and six touchdowns.

Ramos led Southeastern in tackles in all three of his seasons with the team. The Salinas, California product earned All-Southland Conference honors in all three of his years in Hammond, including a first-team nod in 2021.

Miles-Character and McMullan made up the right side of a dominant Southeastern offensive line that helped the Lions finish among the FCS national leaders in virtually every offensive category. At right tackle, Miles-Character was named first team All-Southland Conference and All-Louisiana as a fifth-year senior. McMullan, a starter at right guard in both of his seasons in Hammond, was twice named to the All-Southland team.

Wilson Jr. spent two seasons in the green and gold. The Plano, Texas native caught 21 passes for 398 yards and six touchdowns during his time with the Lions.

Dingle spent the past fall in Hammond. The speedster from Baltimore brought in 37 passes for 445 yards and a touchdown in 2021 for SLU.

Ogbonna also spent one season playing for Southeastern. The Marietta, Georgia native recorded 24 tackles, an interception and five pass breakups this past fall.

The 2022 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 28-30 in Las Vegas. Previous former Lions selected in the NFL Draft since the program’s return in 2003 include defensive backs Robert Alford (Atlanta Falcons, 2nd Round, 2013) and Harlan Miller (Arizona Cardinals, 6th Round, 2016).

To accommodate for their former teammates, the 2022 Lions will move their scheduled Tuesday practice to the proceeding Monday at 3:30 p.m. The spring game is set for April 9 at 10:30 a.m. and the 2022 season opener at UL Lafayette is scheduled for Sept. 3.
