South Alabama senior Chad Lott named SBC player of the week

South Alabama senior guard Chad Lott led the Jaguars in scoring in wins over Troy and Texas and paced the team in rebounds in the triumph over the Trojans. Lott was on fire from the floor, going 17-of-24 (.708), and was a perfect 4-of-4 (1.000) from the free throw line in helping South Alabama secure the No. 2 seed for the 2020 Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Championship. He led all scorers with 22 points, adding a team-high six rebounds, one block and one steal, in the victory over Troy. Needing a win in the regular-season finale against Texas State to clinch a berth to semifinals of the conference tournament, Lott once again came up big with a game-high 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting with four rebounds, two assists and three steals.
