Softball Report: STA rallies past Albany

St. Thomas Aquinas rallied past Albany 6-3 Wednesday in Hammond on Wednesday.

The Hornets took an early 3-0 lead before the Lady Falcons scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning. STA (1-1) added another run for the final margin.

Karlee Kraft was the star for St. Thomas Aquinas, pitching a complete game, striking out six while driving in a pair of runs at the plate. Haleigh Laylle also drove in a pair of runs while Jourdan Cheek, Skylar Cheek and Macie Aydell each had a pair of hits to pace a 14-hit attack.

Both teams return to action Monday as the Lady Falcons will host at 5 p.m. and Albany (0-1) travels to French Settlement at 5 p.m.
