Softball Report De La Salle wins at Riverside

De La Salle evened its record with a solid 14-5 victory Monday afternoon over Riverside at Reserve.
The Lady Cavaliers jumped all over Riverside immediately, scoring 11 runs in the top of the first inning. The Lady Rebels battled back to cut the deficit to 11-5 after three innings but De La Salle scored the final three runs of the game to put the game away.
Mecolett Bradley belted a home run and a double and drove in three runs while Gabby Vado went 3-for-5 with three RBI as well for De La Salle. Cera Blanchard picked up the win.
The loss was the fourth straight for the Lady Rebels.
The Lady Cavs (6-6) will next play at Ursuline Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. The Lady Rebels (2-5) are back in action today, hosting St. Mary’s Academy (1-2) at 3:30 p.m.in the District 11-2A opener for both teams.
In perhaps the top game today, Hahnville (9-2) plays at John Curtis Christian (8-4) at 5 p.m. The Lady Tigers have won nine straight games while the Lady Patriots have won six of their last seven games.
