Softball: Ponchatoula downs Haynes

Area Prep Softball Report for Saturday, March 11

Ponchatoula defeated Haynes Academy 6-1 at home Friday.

The Green Wave used a trio of two-run innings to get the job done, scoring twice in the bottom of the first, fifth and sixth innings. The Yellow Jackets got their only run in the top of the third inning.

Freshman Abby Dagro provided the power with a home run for Ponchatoula.

The Green Wave (7-6) will play Riverdale Monday at 4 p.m. Haynes (6-5) will host Destrehan at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
