Softball Playoffs: Landry, Booker T. Washington fall in opening round

Prep Softball Playoff Report for Sunday, April 18

In Class 4A, No. 2 seed Beau Chene handled No. 31 Landry 22-0 at the St. Julien Complex in Broussard Saturday.

The Gators (20-2) advance to the regional round to face the winner of Monday’s opening round contest featuring No. 15 Pearl River at home against No. 18 Sterlington. The Buccaneers end their season 5-5-1.

In Class 3A, top seed Grant took care of No. 32 Booker T. Washington of New Orleans 17-0 in three innings.

Grant (20-6) moves on to the regional round to face the winner of Monday’s game pitting No. 17 Church Point and No. 16 Caldwell Parish. The Lions end their season 8-8-1.

Most opening round games are set for Monday with a few slated to take place on Tuesday.
