Area Prep Softball Report for Wednesday, Feb. 24

Everyone knows about the John Curtis Christian football program, the most accomplished in Louisiana with 26 state championships to its credit.

John Curtis baseball has been prominent as well, along with the track and field program for the state championships those programs have accumulated.

The Lady Patriots have been an elite softball program as well, winning 10 state titles, second only to Vandebilt Catholic in Louisiana in the history of the sport. John Curtis won five straight state titles between 2003-07.

Most recently, John Curtis won a state title in 2018 in Division I.

The Lady Patriots will be a contender again in Division I in 2021.

John Curtis Christian downed Archbishop Hannan 6-1 in River Ridge behind the fine pitching of Kai Goodman.

The Lady Patriots (2-1), who have also defeated Live Oak and lost to St. Amant, return to action Thursday on the West Bank against Academy of Our Lady at 4:30 p.m.

The Hawks (1-2) face another tough test against Mount Carmel Academy Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
