Softball: Booker T. Washington handles Douglass in district matchup

Area Prep Softball Report for Tuesday, March 29

In a District 10-3A contest Monday, Booker T. Washington (New Orleans) handled Douglass 15-1 in a game shortened to 4 ½ innings by the mercy rule in a game that was rescheduled from a week ago.

The Lady Lions scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and made it 7-0 with two more runs in the second inning. The Lady Bobcats got their run in the top of the third before Booker T. Washington scored a run in the third and broke it open with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Lauren Greer had a hit and two RBI and also walked to pace the Lady Lions.

Both teams return to district play today. Booker T. Washington (6-4, 1-1) is on the road against Abramson Sci Academy today at 4 p.m. while Douglass (2-4, 1-2) hosts New Orleans Science & Math at 4 p.m.
