Area Prep Softball Report for Thursday, March 24

In District 10-4A action, Belle Chasse snapped a six-game losing streak with a 15-0 win over Helen Cox in a game shortened to three innings by the mercy rule.

Freshman Sanai Salvant pitched three perfect innings, striking out seven and went 3 for 3 with two doubles at the plate.

The Lady Cardinals (3-14, 2-1) return to district action today at 4 p.m. at New Orleans Military & Maritime. The Lady Cougars (3-8, 0-3) host East St. John next Monday.

The Lady Patriots scored two runs in the first inning, 12 runs in the second and two more in the third to end it. The Lions had extended the game with three runs in the top of the third inning.

John Ehret downed Booker T. Washington 19-4 in a game shortened to three innings by the mercy rule.

Gabrielle Johnson produced a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the third inning to end it.

Kaleigh Chaisson pitched two innings and picked up the win while Abigail Gisclair pitched the final inning.

The Lady Patriots (8-5) are back in action today, hosting East Jefferson at 4 p.m. in a District 8-5A contest.

The Lady Lions (4-3) also return to action today at 4:30 p.m. in a District 10-3A contest with New Orleans Science & Math.
