Soccer: St. Paul’s, Holy Cross, E.D. White, Episcopal of Acadiana top latest state rankings

Area Prep Soccer Report for Tuesday, Nov. 27

St. Paul’s, Holy Cross, E.D. White Catholic and Episcopal of Acadiana were the top-ranked teams in the Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association poll released yesterday.

St. Paul’s (3-0-1) is now the undisputed top-ranked team in Division I after being tied with defending state champion Jesuit for the top spot for a week ago. The Wolves and Blue Jays played to a scoreless tie last week. St. Paul’s downed No. 8 Lafayette 2-0 yesterday. Jesuit (3-0-2) is a close second with Denham Springs(5-0) third, Catholic of Baton Rouge (3-1) fourth and Northshore (3-1-2) fifth. Brother Martin (2-2-2) is ninth.

Defending state champion Holy Cross (1-0) is the unanimous top-ranked team in Division II. The Tigers topped Brother Martin last week. Woodlawn of Baton Rouge (4-0-1) is second with Beau Chene (2-1-3) third. East Jefferson (2-1) is fourth with Caddo Magnet (3-1-1) fifth. Riverdale (2-0) is seventh with Lakeshore (0-1) eighth.

E.D. White Catholic (3-1-1) remains the top-ranked team in Division III, edging St. Louis Catholic (2-0-2) for the top spot. University High (1-0-1) is third with Loyola Prep (2-1-1) fourth and Teurlings Catholic (2-0) fifth. Defending state champion Vandebilt Catholic (0-4-1) is sixth.

Defending state champion Episcopal of Acadiana (3-0) is the unanimous choice for the top spot in Division IV. Northlake Christian (0-0) is second with Newman (0-0) third. St. Thomas Aquinas (3-0) is fourth with Episcopal (2-0) fifth. Country Day (0-0) is seventh with Christ Episcopal (2-1) tenth.
