Soccer Report: St. Paul’s opens at home against Jesuit, Hahnville girls win opener

The prep soccer season opens with a bang in boys action tonight as four-time Division I state champion St. Paul’s hosts traditional power Jesuit at 6:30 p.m. at Hunter Stadium.

St. Paul’s has won eight state championships while the Blue Jays have captured nine LHSAA titles.

In girls action, Hahnville opened its season at home in successful fashion with a 3-1 victory over Riverside.

Freshman Amber Hood scored a pair of goals while Emily Wood added the other goal.

Hahnville will play next in the Central Lafourche tournament this weekend while the Rebels will play at Lee High this Saturday morning.
