After a rough few days of weather in south Louisiana, soccer resumed Friday around the area.

In girls action, McGehee edged Country Day 2-1.

Ella Patton’s free kick found the net in the final minute to give the Hawks a dramatic victory.

Kathleen Kelleher put the Cajuns (5-10-1) ahead with a goal early in the first half before McGehee (11-4) got the equalizer on a goal by Evelyn Argote late in the first half.

Both teams return to action Monday as McGehee goes against Sacred Heart of New Orleans at 5 p.m. while Country Day will entertain Northlake Christian at 3:30 p.m.

Mandeville handled Central 8-0 at Mandeville.

Katie Greene scored three goals while Macayla Bass had a pair for the Skippers (20-4). Isabella Kerth, Jena Burkart and Maleah Haley also scored for Mandeville. Central fell to 9-5-2 with the loss.
